Aveeation launched We Are The Trends in Fall 2023 as a bold initiative to spotlight creatives shaping today’s style & entertainment narrative. The campaign uplifts emerging and established stylists, bridging the gap between talent, brand, and consumer. Through editorials, panels, and digital content, Aveeation creates a space for underrepresented voices to lead, not follow, the trends.
The campaign is powered by The Aveeator — upcoming lifestyle magazine dedicated to highlighting talent within our community. From stylists and designers to creative entrepreneurs, The Aveeator is a platform that elevates Black and Brown excellence in fashion, art, and culture.
Praised as “trailblazers in ready-to-wear” by Fashion Week Online, Aveeation continues to challenge the fashion norm, with featured creatives seen in Vogue, Farfetch, Flanelle, and more. We Are The Trends has earned recognition across Getty Images, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, and Philadelphia Tribune.
Why It Matters: The Data Behind the Mission
Despite their cultural influence, minorities remain vastly underrepresented in the fashion industry:
- 69.7% of fashion designers are White, while only 7.7% are Black and 12.2% are Asian (DataUSA.io).
- 70.2% of creative directors are non-minority based (Zippia).
- Black and Hispanic consumers spend up to 30% more on visible goods like fashion than white counterparts of similar income (Wharton UPenn).
- Black fashion buyers earn the lowest salaries, averaging $53,550, compared to $60,000 for Asian buyers (Zippia).
